Do you want to be an ambassador of peace? Here’s your chance to learn from the peace data experts before the year ends.
Following on from the success of this year’s Ambassadors Programme, the Institute for Economics and Peace (IEP) is delivering it again in late 2019.
IEP’s Ambassadors Programme provides knowledge and resources to individuals interested in fostering peace in their communities and attracts seasoned peacebuilders as well as people who are new to the field.
Participants receive an in-depth understanding of IEP’s research and methodology, guidance on how to communicate peace research, and how to activate IEP’s Positive Peace framework – an evidence-based model for sustainable, societal development that emphasises factors known to create thriving societies.
IEP provides its data and research, which is often adapted by ambassadors who draw on their varied regional, cultural and professional interests.
The programme is cost free, flexible and can be accessed online from anywhere in the world.
Patricia Garcia AO will coordinate the IEP Ambassador Program after her recent appointment to IEP.
Ms Garcia is well-respected in the peacebuilding field with more than 20 years-experience in conflict zones working on humanitarian aid and development programmes; work that has been recognised with an a Queen’s Birthday Honours Award of Officer of the General Division of the Order of Australia in 2016.
More people than ever are flocking to the free peace programme provided by IEP. Since its launch in 2016, participation in the IEP Ambassadors Programme has increased fourfold, reaching a record high level of applications this year.
