Our research analyses peace and its economic value.

The Institute for Economics & Peace IEP is an independent, non-partisan, non-profit think tank dedicated to shifting the world’s focus to peace as a positive, achievable, and tangible measure of human well-being and progress. We aim to create a paradigm shift in the way the world thinks about peace.

  1. Global and National Indices: We develop global & national indices which provide comprehensive insights into peace levels across nations and regions, guiding policymakers and organizations worldwide. Some of our publications include the Global Peace Index, Global Terrorism Index, Ecological Threat Report and the Positive Peace Report.
  2. Economic Impact of Violence: IEP goes beyond measuring peace by quantifying the economic repercussions of violence and conflict. Our research unveils the staggering costs associated with these challenges, emphasizing the urgency of peacebuilding efforts.
  3. Country-Level Risk Analysis: Our rigorous analysis of country-level risk factors aids in identifying vulnerabilities that can lead to conflict. This knowledge empowers stakeholders to proactively address potential threats to peace.
  4. Positive Peace Framework: IEP’s innovative Positive Peace framework offers a strategic roadmap for overcoming adversity and conflict. By addressing key factors such as governance, resources, and business environments, we help societies establish and maintain enduring peace.
