What is the Global Peace Index?
The Global Peace Index (GPI) ranks 163 independent states and territories according to their level of peacefulness. Produced by the Institute for Economics and Peace (IEP), the GPI is the world’s leading measure of global peacefulness.
What is the Global Terrorism Index?
The Global Terrorism Index (GTI) is a comprehensive study analysing the impact of terrorism for 163 countries covering 99.7 per cent of the world’s population.
Given the significant resources committed to counter terrorism by governments across the world, it is important to analyse and aggregate the available data to better understand its various properties. One of the key aims of the GTI is to examine these trends. It also aims to help inform a positive, practical debate about the future of terrorism and the required policy responses.
What is the Positive Peace Index?
This report details the latest findings from IEP’s research into Positive Peace, including country rankings and their changes over time.
The Positive Peace Report (PPR) report also analyses the relationship between development and Positive Peace, finding that Positive Peace acts as a catalyst for better development outcomes.
What is the Ecological Threat Report?
The Ecological Threat Report (ETR) assesses threats relating to food risk, water risk, rapid population growth, temperature anomalies and natural disasters. These assessments are then combined with national measures of socio- economic resilience to determine which countries have the most severe threats and lowest coping capabilities.
These are the countries most likely to suffer from increased levels of ecological-threat related conflict. The ETR also looks at the future, with projections out to 2050.
