The event is hosted by the Institute for Economics and Peace (IEP), the Montreal Institute for Genocide and Human Rights Studies (MIGS), and the Canadian Global Affairs Institute (CGAI).
Produced annually by IEP, the Global Terrorism Index provides a comprehensive summary of the key global trends and patterns in terrorism. The ninth edition of the report provides a comprehensive summary of developments in 2021, with a specific focus on the Sahel region, political terrorism, and the impact of the ongoing global COVID-19 pandemic.
The Institute for Economics and Peace (IEP) recently published the 2022 Global Terrorism Index (GTI). The GTI is an annual report produced by the Institute for Economics & Peace. Now on its ninth edition, the GTI provides a comprehensive summary of developments in 2021, with a specific focus on the Sahel region, political terrorism, and the impact of the ongoing global COVID-19 pandemic. Speakers will provide an overview of the report's findings and look at the socio-economic conditions under which terrorism occurs, some of the recent geopolitical drivers and how terrorism changes over time.
