The 5th edition of the Ecological Threat Report (ETR) by the Institute for Economics & Peace (IEP), an international think tank, underscores that without coordinated global action, escalating ecological degradation will drive heightened social tension and conflict across the globe.

The Ecological Threat Report 2024 – Europe & MENA Launch event is dedicated to identifying practical, regenerative solutions for the regions most affected by ecological challenges. Serge Stroobants, IEP’s Director for Europe and MENA, will present the report's findings, followed by a panel discussion featuring experts in environmental policy and regeneration. The panel will delve into key report findings and trends, and will spotlight actionable strategies to address ecological impacts and bolster societal resilience. Beyond adaptation and mitigation, the discussion will emphasise systemic regeneration as a pathway forward.

Speakers and Panelists:

  • Serge Stroobants – Moderator and Presenter
Director for Europe & MENA and Global Director for Security, Defence, and Intelligence at IEP. With expertise in political science, international relations, security and defence, global risk analysis, foresight, and crisis management, Stroobants will present the ETR findings and moderate the panel discussion.
