Within the framework of operationalizing the COP27 Initiative Climate Responses for Sustaining Peace (CRSP), the Cairo International Center for Conflict Resolution, Peacekeeping and Peacebuilding (CCCPA) is hosting the high-level panel of the side event "Advancing Climate Responses for Sustaining Peace: from Sharm El Sheikh to Dubai and Beyond”.

Building on this momentum, the COP28 Presidency dedicated the 3rd of December 2023 as the Climate, Relief, Recovery and Peace Day. This thematic day is a first-of-its-kind to focus on building consensus on priority action areas, such as accelerating adaptation and alleviating barriers to climate finance with a focus on fragile and conflict-affected contexts. The Climate, Relief, Recovery and Peace Thematic Day will also feature the launch of theCOP28 Climate, Relief, Recovery and Peace Declaration, which recognizes and reinforces the efforts of the COP27 Presidency Initiative CRSP. Coupled with the launch of the Declaration is a corresponding package of solutions that will serve as the Declaration’s operationalization framework.
