The global “new normal” is characterized by instability and change. Climate emergencies, food insecurity, displacement, conflicts, social inequalities and unregulated rapid urbanization are increasingly impacting the lives of children, especially those living in hardest to reach places.event to learn about this new tool, its potential in influencing policy and programs in increasingly urbanizing fragile hotspots and to provide us with input as we continue to develop its next phase.
In 2022, World Vision International engaged the Institute of Economics and Peace in the early development of a Multidimensional Child Vulnerability Mapping Tool. The tool overlays key demographic and geocoded data to help better pinpoint locations globally where children are most exposed to vulnerability. It is a consolidation of globally comparable national and subnational data, visualized through a series of maps that are meant to guide practitioners and policy makers in efforts for anticipatory action.
