The Institute for Economics and Peace is dedicated
to developing the inter-relationships between business, peace and
economic development. Through its global reach, it aims to empower the private
sector, academic community, civil society, international institutions
and governments with the knowledge to proactively use peace to achieve
their desired goals.The Institute for Economics and
Peace conducts research and education, generates dialogue, and
publicizes the output of its activities with a view to impacting the
public agenda. It works in partnership with other stakeholders
interested in creating peace including academic institutions, business,
governments, NGOs and peace institutes.
The Institute has the following core tasks:
- Forge
relationships between peace, business and economics working in
partnership with international business alliances, government,
academics, NGO and others.
- Develop frameworks for demonstrating the economic benefits of peace to business, governments and civil society;
- Initiate wider debate and enable discussion through international conferences, publications and forums.
- Develop educational content for the promotion of peace within academic institutions.
The institute is non-partisan. It enjoys and welcomes association with other institutions that share similar goals.
