Digital peace

The newest member of our research team at the Institute for Economics and Peace, Charles Martin Shields, is an expert in peace and technology. This month, his article “Proving Digital Peace” is featured in the Alliance for Peacebuilding’s Building Peace Forum magazine.

The article questions how we understand the role of technology in supporting peacebuilding, how it is currently being used and what best practices are. It further discusses how the social, economic and political environment might impact the use of technology in peacebuilding.

These questions are critical and timely, as technology and data become increasingly important in social development and peacebuilding.
