Global Outreach And Love of Soccer (GOALS) uses soccer to engage youth in community work and education to improve quality of life today and develop new leaders for tomorrow. Programs include local teams, health education, and scholarships.
According to the GOALS founders, Haiti is one of the hardest places in the world to grow up. To give you an idea, secorday school enrolment is just 19%, and most families live on around US$2 per day. GOALS fosters the big dreams of children throughout Haiti, helping them see the value in completing school, building a career and helping others.
The main GOALS sites are in Léogane. Each day the programme encourages hundreds of happy, healthy kids to excel as lasters on the soccer field, in the classroom, and in their communities. They debate what leadership means to them, their communities’ biggest needs, and the importance of gender equality.
