TOP 100 GOOD

The GOOD 100 2014, the 4th edition of the award, recognise a range of artists, activists, entrepreneurs and inventors for their contribution to global good. In case you haven’t heard, GOOD.is is “is a place to share creative solutions for living well and doing good.”

Steve has been recognised by GOOD as a “peace planner”. In his profile, GOOD describe Steve’s journey to peace, from an IT entrepreneur to the Founder of the Institute for Economics and Peace.

"Steve Killelea is an Australian tech entrepreneur who has built several successful systems management businesses; his company, Integrated Research, services the London and New York stock exchanges, Visa, and MasterCard, and most of the world’s ATMs. He retired from his position as CEO in 2004 and began pushing a different kind of product: peace. The Institute for Economics and Peace, founded by Killelea in 2007, is dedicated to understanding the fundamental nature of peace, the defining characteristics of societies that embrace it, and the direct connection between peace and economic prosperity. Every year, the IEP releases the Global Peace Index, a study that measures and ranks the relative peacefulness of countries around the world. Killelea warns against equating peace with the mere absence of strife and urges us to conceptualize it as a separate, quantifiable, and attainable goal."
