Camilla Schippa
Senior Vice President - Global Peace Index Camilla is highly experienced in international development work and management of multi-stakeholders partnerships. Camilla has held senior positions at the United Nations for over a decade. Most recently she was the Chief of Office of the United Nations Office for Partnerships, within the Executive Office of the UN Secretary-General. In this role, she advised on the management of the US$1 billion partnership between the United Nations and Mr. Ted Turner's UN Foundation and assisted in overseeing the activities of the recently established UN Democracy Fund. Camilla also led the United Nations’ engagement in the area of Sport for Development & Peace and was part of the team responsible for setting up a new Peacebuilding Support Office at the United Nations. Over the years, Camilla guided the development of high impact public-private partnerships in support of the Millennium Development Goals and has contributed to the creation of numerous strategic alliances between the United Nations and corporations, foundations and philanthropists. She managed liaison with regional commissions, UN programmes, funds and specialized agencies, diplomatic missions and NGOs. As Secretary to the UN Fund for International Partnerships (UNFIP) Advisory Board, Camilla oversaw the planning of the Board meetings and was responsible for portfolios of funding valued at over US$100 million. Prior, she worked in the UN Department of Public Information, managing media relations. Before joining the United Nations, Camilla held the position of Assistant Researcher in the Department of International Economics at the Norges Handels Hoyskolen in Bergen, Norway. She also worked as consultant for Christian Michelsen Research AS. From 1994 to 1995, Camilla led an Ethno-Anthropological field research in South-East Kenya. She holds an MA summa cum laude in International Political Sciences from the University of Perugia, Italy. |
